Things may be a mess, but remember Jesus!

With all that is going on in the world around us, it’s hard not to get bogged down with fear and despair. That is exactly what our enemy is hoping we will do. Fear paralyzes. Despair immobilizes. He knows we will have little impact on the world if we are frozen in place.

When the Apostle Paul was commissioning his protégé, Timothy, he told him to remember Jesus. Timothy was called to reach people with the gospel, and Paul knew he’d run into roadblocks. He knew there would be times when Timothy might be tempted to throw in the towel because the realities around him would be more than he could handle. But Timothy knew the truth. (2 Timothy 3:14-15) He knew the power and freedom in Christ. He just needed to continually call Jesus to mind.

Remember Jesus Christ [the ever-living Lord who has] risen from the dead, [as the prophesied King] descended from David [king of Israel], according to my gospel [the good news that I preach] – 2 Timothy 2:8 The Amplified Translation

The same is true for us. When things in the world around us seem to be spiraling out of control, we must remember Jesus!

Remember who He is.

Jesus is God’s Son. God Himself in the flesh. All powerful and the same yesterday, today, and forever.

“You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name Him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High.” – Luke 1:31-32 NLT

Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday and today and forever. – Hebrews 13:8 AMP

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the One who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” – Revelation 1:8 CSB

Remember why He came.

He came to reveal God and to reconcile and redeem lost sinners.

For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of His cross. – Colossians 1:19-20 ESV

Remember what He accomplished

By His death and resurrection, He conquered sin and death once and for all. He bore our sins so that we could spend eternity with God.

He personally carried our sins in His body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By His wounds we are healed. – 1 Peter 2:24 NLT

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. – John 3:16-17 NKJV

Remember He’s alive and seated at the right hand of God.

Jesus is still alive, and He lives forever. When He ascended into heaven, He took His place at the right hand of God where He remains, as our Intercessor and Mediator.

When He had cleansed us from our sins, He sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. – Hebrews 1:3 NLT

For there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity – the man Christ Jesus. – 1 Timothy 2:5 NLT

Remember He’s coming back.

Jesus promised that He would come back for us. He is preparing a place for us and one day we will be eternally in His presence.

When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. – John 14:3 NLT

Look, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. – Revelation 1:7 CSB

Keep Jesus at the forefront of your thoughts.

When everything else seems unsettled and chaotic, remember Jesus! He is the anchor.

The world is crazy… but Jesus!

I lost my job… but Jesus!

My child is a prodigal… but Jesus!

My finances are in trouble … but Jesus!

I’m sick and in pain… but Jesus!

Capture your fears and worries and put them in the proper eternal perspective with Jesus at the center. It will make a difference in your life.

Remember Jesus!
