Access Granted

The Throne Room of God (Revelation 4)… what an awesome place that must be! Sometimes when I pray, I imagine that I am being escorted in by Jesus to present my requests to the Father.

As I approach, I hear the chorus of praise coming from inside. The door opens and I see the room is crowded, filled with creatures I have never seen before. They are gloriously singing over and over: “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty!”

I am frozen in fear until Jesus takes me by the hand and walks me inside. The crowds part as He leads me towards the throne. There I see the Almighty God and my heart starts to pound and my knees become weak! Then God raises His hand to quiet the room and beckons me to come closer. He turns all His attention toward me, and I can feel the warmth of His fatherly love envelop me.

I kneel before Him with so much to say, but I can’t seem to utter any words. Then I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit beside me and I begin to pour out my heart to my Heavenly Father. (Romans 8:26) God is attentive the whole time I speak. I know He hears every word I say, even the ones that are whispered through painful sobs. When I am finally done, I open my eyes and look up at Him. He smiles at me and says, “It’s all taken care of!”

As I turn to leave, I feel 100 pounds lighter, almost like I am floating, and I know that everything will be o.k.
