You are Part of God’s Master Plan

What if I told you that you are a part of something bigger than yourself? Your Creator has a master plan, and He created you to be part of it. You have an eternal purpose!

When the Israelites were making their way through the wilderness, God decided they needed a place to go to worship and be near Him. He wanted everyone to take part in the construction of the Tabernacle, so He told Moses to put out the call, and everyone whose hearts were stirred and spirits were moved willingly came forward with their resources and skills. They were eager to help with God’s master plan.

So the people of Israel – every man and woman who was eager to help in the work the Lord had given them through Moses – brought their gifts and gave them freely to the Lord. – Exodus 35:20 NLT

The Israelites understood all they had was given to them by God. Without His mighty intervention, they would still be slaves in Egypt. Their talents and treasures had a divine purpose, and everyone had a part to play. They were on mission for God and eager to be part of His purpose.

The same is true for God’s people today. As Christ-followers, we’re on a mission to make Him known and we each have an important part to play. Some of us are blessed with financial resources to sow into the Kingdom of God. Others have special talents that can be used to do God’s work on earth. (Most of us have both in some measure.)

God has given you talents and treasures to contribute to His Kingdom work.

Jesus taught this principle in a parable He shared with His disciples. A man had three servants whom he entrusted with money (called talents) before he went on a journey. Each received an amount according to their ability. When he returned, the master discovered that two of the servants had doubled their investment, and to them, he said, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.” But the third had hidden his away and done nothing with it, and the master was not happy. This “worthless” servant received no credit for hiding his talent. Instead, it was taken from him and given to another who had been faithful with theirs.

Our talents and treasures were not given to us to be hidden or hoarded. They are meant to be invested into the Kingdom of God where they can be used and multiplied. Take a close look at what God has blessed you with. What unique gifts or talents do you have? How about resources or finances? What opportunities have been set before you? It has all been given to you by your Heavenly Father to be used for His glory.

You have been born for such a time as this. You are blessed to be a blessing and you have a part to play in God’s master plan.

Lord, thank you for allowing me to be part of Your Kingdom work. Thank you for blessing me with gifts, passions, and opportunities that can be used to accomplish Your will. I surrender all that I have to You! In Jesus’ name, amen.
