Is Freedom Your Reality?

The Word of God is an incredible blessing full of stories of real people with real struggles. In their stories, we see God move in the lives of His people and in the world around them. We see His promises fulfilled, His faithfulness displayed, and His power revealed. We gain an understanding of His character that builds our faith and strengthens our resolve. When you read the Bible daily and apply it consistently, you will find freedom and begin to see fruit in your life.

This is why I write. To share my journey through the Word of God and encourage you in yours.

My deep dive into the book of Exodus is complete! I love the Exodus story because I can relate. The Israelites had been living in captivity for so long they had accepted it as their reality, then God set them free and started their journey to the Promised Land. The journey was not always easy, but God was always there, miraculously providing and protecting, remaining faithful even when they blew it.

Their story is my story! I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was young but I never fully surrender my life to Him. This resulted in decades of prodigal living full of strongholds and struggles. When I finally started to dig into the Bible, God began to reveal the freedom available to me in Jesus Christ. So, I followed Him out of captivity and started my own journey where I have seen God’s faithfulness time and time again.

Saved and surrendered!

Salvation is the beginning of an incredible journey that will see its fulfillment in eternity with God. But if your salvation is nothing more than a prayer you prayed years ago, you will miss out on the incredible freedom you have in Christ. If you don’t surrender your life to Jesus you will continue to strive and struggle with the same old strongholds, weighed down by chains that God wants to set you free from.

Jesus shed His blood and died to pay the price for your sin, then He rose from the dead to give you victory over it.

Step 1: Acknowledge your sin and your need for a Savior.

Step 2: Believe that Jesus died in your place and that only through Him can you be reconciled to God, then call on Him to save you.

Step 3: Surrender! Make Jesus the Lord of your life. All of your life.

Step 4: Get to know your Father by reading His Word then believe what He says to you through it.

Don’t settle for anything else than the abundant life of freedom and victory in Jesus Christ!

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. – Galatians 5:1 ESV

After freedom comes transformation.

Next up in my study of the Bible is the book of Acts. Acts is the story of what happened to Jesus’ followers after He ascended into heaven and how their lives were transformed! Follow along here on the blog or on Facebook or Instagram as I dig in and share what God shows me.
