3-Steps to Perfect & Constant Peace

Do you feel like your days are filled with worry, fear, and frustration? Does the onslaught of stress seem constant? As soon as one problem is behind you, another one rears its ugly head. The constant stress is damaging your mind, your body, and your soul. What if you could face each day with confidence and hope even if you’re not sure what it will bring? What if you could close your eyes at night and sleep, regardless of your current circumstances? What if you could have perfect and constant peace?

“You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You – in both inclination and character], because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].- Isaiah 26:3 (The Amplified Translation)

God has promised to keep you in perfect and constant peace if you remember a few important things:

Have a steadfast mind, committed and focused on God.

When you are committed and focused on something, you put your all into it. An athlete that is committed to their sport practices regularly and keeps their body in shape so that they can perform. Spouses that are committed to one another spend time together and don’t allow other people or activities to come between them. People that are committed to a cause work on what needs to be done and never give up even when they face obstacles. Your relationship with God should be the foundation of all that you are.

If you are committed and focused on God in every part of your life, He will keep you in perfect and constant peace.

Trust and take refuge in God.

God loves you and His plan and purpose for your life are good even if you don’t understand all His ways. Reflect on who God is and on His faithfulness throughout all time and you will be able to trust Him in your situation.

Even during the darkest storm, if you take refuge in God, He will keep you in perfect and constant peace.

Have hope and a confident expectation.

Hope is a strong word and something that is in short supply in the world today.  But if you are a redeemed child of God, you are greatly loved. Jesus has gone to prepare a place for you in eternity with Him, and that solid hope and confident expectation can give you perfect and constant peace.

Jesus knows that you need peace. He also knows that on your own you will struggle to find it. That is why He left you with His perfect and constant peace.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – John 14:27 NIV
