What are you waiting for?

He who watches the wind [waiting for all conditions to be perfect] will not sow [seed] and he who looks at the clouds will not reap [a harvest]. – Ecclesiastes 11:4 AMP

Has God put something on your heart that you know He wants you to get moving on? Has He given you a dream or a goal that lines up with your talents and opportunities? Has it been confirmed for you as you pray and seek His Word and other godly counsel?

What are you waiting for? When God puts something on your heart and it is in line with His Word, you have to step out in faith and act! God will bring it all together for you as you move forward one step at a time using the gifts, talents, and opportunities He gives you.

The conditions may not always be perfect. You may run up against opposition from the devil as he attempts to interfere in God’s plan for your life. You may experience challenges presented by God in order to strengthen your faith. But if you wait for perfect conditions, you won’t make any progress.

Remain in prayer and in the Word of God. Be constantly filled with the Holy Spirit and follow His guidance. God is strengthening you, energizing you, and giving you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose. Move forward and trust Him for the outcome. He has something amazing planned for you!

For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure. – Philippians 2:13 AMP

  1. This reminds me of what Erma Bombeck said: “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, I used everything you gave me.” I often regret that I have less time left to do what I kind of think I should be doing, and less time to figure out exactly what God’s plan is for me. Then I remember all the people Jesus redirected, healed emotionally or physically. And I realize that my testimony can still bear fruit because everything is multiplied in God’s economy. The Bible is full of people who thought they’d messed up their opportunity or were too old to finish something new, but if God declares it, it is intended to happen. 👍🏼

    1. My “word of the year” this year is “FORWARD” as I try to remind myself not to think about the time I missed, but to get moving today in God’s strength. Moving forward, one step at a time! 🙂
