God is Working in the Waiting

Deliverance from strongholds and struggles doesn’t always happen overnight, but God is working in the waiting.

As the Israelites remained under oppression, they must have wondered what God was up to. They had heard His promise of freedom, but what was taking so long? They watched Him send plague after plague but none of them seemed to do the trick. Pharoah would be just about to let them go, but then his heart would harden, and they’d remain in captivity.

I wonder if they were packed and ready to go. As each plague hit, did they make their way to the door ready to step into freedom only to discover they weren’t free yet? Did they give up? Did they say, “Forget it! We’ll never get out of here!”?

Can you relate?

When you finally believe freedom will be a reality, the process is the hardest part. You start to have small victories and with each one you get ready to claim freedom, but for some reason, you are still stuck.

God is working in the waiting! Pay attention and you will see. He is revealing His truth. He is strengthening your resolve. He is building your faith. He is preparing you so when you finally break free you will have a testimony with His name all over it!

When God showed up in Egypt to set His people free, He didn’t just obliterate their captors at once so they could walk over their bodies into freedom. Instead, He sent plagues that revealed His power and made His name known. When the Israelites finally walked out of there, they did so with a testimony!

As you fight to break free from your strongholds and struggles, don’t let the enemy’s disruptions overshadow God’s intervention. Grab hold of every victory and stay ready because you will find freedom if you keep your eyes on Jesus.

And I am certain that God, who began the good work with you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. – Philippians 1:6 NLT
