7 Things to Remember When Life Gets Me Down

Sometimes I feel like I’m just barely getting by. Like I’m falling short in all the important areas of my life.  In finances.  In parenting.  In writing.  In taking care of my home.  “Not enough” is the allegation that keeps playing in my head.  But I know that this is just my flesh agreeing with the lies of the devil.  That is not what my Heavenly Father says.

1 – God says that my weakness makes room for his strength. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

2 – God says that I can do anything through the strength that he gives me. (Philippians 4:13)

3 – God says that he will work all things together for good in my life. (Romans 8:28)

4 – God says he will give me rest when I am burdened. (Matthew 11:28)

5 – God says he came so that I could have abundant life. (John 10:10)

6 – God says that I am more than a conqueror. (Romans 8:37)

7 – God says he knows my needs and he will supply them. (Matthew 6:32-33)

Lord, when life seems to be closing in on me, help me to recall these promises and so many others you gave me when you saved me!

  1. Gee, that’s not a bad list of assets, is it? 🙂 If only we could keep the confidence of His words at the tip of our tongue and in the deepest parts of our heart! If only these were the first thoughts we had instead of ‘what am I going to do?’ We’d be fearless. We’d be dangerous to the enemy! So very, very dangerous indeed. By the way, I don’t know how old your children are but my younger is 17. I picked up the book The Delusion by Laura Gallier at the library. It deals with a teenaged boy who knows little of religion except going to church on Easter is suddenly able to physically see spiritual warfare. I wanted to finish it before she read it, but it’s pretty interesting so far! Keep up the good work, Mom!

    1. Thank you!! I agree. The lies in my head too often drown out the truth of God’s Word. My kids are teens and young adults. They keep me on my knees and they pleasantly surprise me, too. God bless you!!
