God’s Glory Displayed

God uses all sorts of ways to display his glory, even though in the midst of it we might not see or understand. When the Israelites had finally been set free from years of slavery in Egypt, they had no idea that God had a plan to show their captors one more time that he is the One True God – and they weren’t initially pleased to be a part of it.

And once again I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will chase after you. I have planned this in order to display my glory through Pharaoh and his whole army. After this the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord !” (Exodus 14:4 NLT)

When his people saw his plan unfolding and their enemies closing in they panicked. They were looking only at their current situation and had forgotten who God is and what he is capable of accomplishing.

Moses had to remind them:
But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. (Exodus 14:13 NLT)

Then God parted the sea!

If we pay attention, we will notice God “parting seas” in our lives all the time. He intends all of these moments in the lives of his children to show his amazing glory to those around us.

Whether trials or victories… No matter how big or how small… Even when it makes no earthly sense…

Are we participating or hindering?

For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen. (Romans 11:36 NLT)
