Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. – Proverbs 4:25-26
As I was spending time in prayer and in the Bible today, I was thinking about a goal I have. A big one. Something I’m excited about, but something that’s pretty overwhelming. I was praying for God to help me keep my focus. To help me to be patient as I wait for it all to come together. As I was jotting down my thoughts in my journal, I wrote: “I literally have no idea where this is going to go.”
I set my journal to the side and began to read the Scripture passage for the day. Right now I’m doing a reading plan that is taking me through the Psalms and Proverbs. Always an amazing journey! And as so often happens I read a portion of Scipture that seems to finish the dialogue I began with God. It was like a direct response to my statement.
Me: “I literally have no idea where this is going to go.”
God: “Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.”
That’s how God speaks!
