Have you ever thought about what your “world view” is? What is the lens through which you see the world around you? There’s a lot of different choices, and the world view you espouse to will be a factor in the way you live your life. And the way you live your life will likely be passed on to your children or to others that you have an influence on. It’s safe to say that world views are contagious, and we’re all spreading something.
So how do we look different if we have a Biblical world view? What are we spreading?
We know that we were created by God in his image. That he made man, and he made woman. Separately. Differently. We know that he created us as spiritual beings that were intended to be in fellowship with our creator. And that he provided one way for that to happen.* We know that he also gave us a physical body, a temple for his Holy Spirit, to be used while we’re on earth to glorify God. Knowing these things should mean that we’ve accepted Christ as our Savior (God’s plan of salvation) and that we care for our body and use our body in a way that is pleasing to God.
So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27 NLT)
Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20 NLT)
We know that truth is truth! By its very definition it cannot be subjective. God’s Word is truth. And Jesus is the living, breathing Word. When we accept that, we are free from the power that the father of lies, Satan, has on this world.
In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1 NLT)
Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. (John 17:17 NLT)
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 NLT)
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32 NLT)
And we know that Biblical values, morals, are defined by God. Whether or not we think they “fit” with the current society or not is irrelevant. When he inspired the written word, he knew what today was going to look like. If had thought it necessary to make concessions for changing times, he would have made that clear. Fortunately, he also knew that people were going to blow it. And that no matter how good they tried to be, they could never hit the mark on their own. So through Jesus we received God’s grace (a free gift we do not deserve) and his mercy (being spared the penalty we do deserve). When we know this…we will honor God’s laws, repent when we fail, forgive others as we’ve been forgiven, speak the truth in love, and leave the judging to God.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace…(Hebrews 13:8, 9 NLT)

One thing I know for sure is that the only world view out there with true hope is the Biblical world view. There are a lot of people who are clinging to a different world view, but the hole God placed in their soul is not filled. They know that something’s missing. It’s our job to live in a way that demonstrates that we have the missing piece. Jesus!
