Jesus has changed my life by the power of His Spirit through the truth of His Word!
Hello. My name is Erika Owens. I’m a wife, mom, and grandma, and I live with my husband, James, in a suburb of the Twin Cities, Minnesota. The joy of my life is spending time with our three grown sons, bonus daughters, and grandbabies.
I’m a Bible-loving devotional writer and author, and I’ve been digging into the Word of God for over twenty years. My day job is in marketing and events, and in my free time, I create biblical content to encourage others in their faith and deepen their desire for God’s Word. I share my journey through the Bible on my blog as well as on social media, a space that began with sharing simple truths from my devotional time and has grown into a ministry of encouragement for others.
I’m blessed to be part of a fabulous local church that holds the Word of God in high esteem and seeks to glorify God. I serve as a Coach in the women’s ministry, where I get to watch women discover the incredible Biblical truths and apply them to their lives. My walk with Jesus hasn’t always been steady, but He faithfully pursued me and brought me back to Himself. If you’d like to read more of that journey, click here.
Whether through writing, ministry opportunities, or everyday moments, my greatest joy is encouraging others to walk closely with Jesus and discover the life-changing power of His Word.
God takes me so many places as I read and study His Word, and I love to write about it. I pray that following my journey will encourage you in yours. But more than anything, I pray that God will be glorified and that He will always be the main contributor to everything I write!
God loves you, and He wants to have a personal relationship with you! That is why He sent Jesus to bridge the gap between you and Him by way of the cross. All you have to do is:
Admit you’re a sinner.
(Romans 3:23)
Recognize that the penalty for sin is death.
(Romans 6:23)
Know that God loves you and Jesus died to pay that penalty for you.
(Romans 5:8)
Understand that nothing you can do on your own will ever be enough.
(Ephesians 2:8)
Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord!
(Romans 10:9)
Celebrate the new you!
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
If you’ve accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, welcome to the family! Now tell someone. Find a Bible-believing, truth-telling church home to become a part of, and stay grounded in the Word of God!

Erica – What a fabulous writer you are! I’m so proud of you. Thanks for doing this and blessing so many folks including me. I look forward to what’s to come in your postings and hearing about how God is working in you and through you. Love you sweetie – George
